I'm not saying it because I want to be controversial, Im saying it because I have tried every single diet out there, and while you are doing it, they work but when you are done with depriving yourself of all the things you love and not allowing yourself to be satisfied, you gain them back!
I started dieting when I was 11, because my father thought I was too "round" and he did not want me to grow up with problems like he had. Thirty plus years later not only do I know that diets don't work, I also know that I am suffering the consequences from putting my body through that my whole life! No one out there knows better than me, how hard it can be.
Up until now I have not found one doctor, nutritionist, dietician or natural healer that knows the struggles I have gone through to live a normal life where food is not the center of my life. What am I eating, where am I eating it, when am I eating it and when I'm done, what will I eat at the next meal!
So for anyone that wants to change their eating habbits, I know how you feel, there is no quick fix, there is no diet, but there is a steady sure way that will change your life... forever! I know because for the first time in my life i'm living it!
Having lived it and knowing the battle one goes through is what makes it so important to spread the word. To teach individuals, groups, families, schools how to change the way we look at food. How to prepare food so that not only are we satisfied, but we nourish ourselves from the inside out.
My focus is on showing my clients, their families and friends that living a healthy life is not boring nor bland! One can change their life and still enjoy eating by creating delicious food that is full of flavor and full of health. What we eat not only feeds our stomachs and our taste buds, but also our cells, our blood, our organs and our souls.
I truly believe that food can either harm you or heal you. That does not mean that we should not go to doctors, in fact I truly believe we need them, however I also believe that if we eat differently, better and with more thought rather than just with our eyes we can heal a lot of the problems we have on a daily basis.
I have been involved directly and indirectly with nutrition for over 30 years, but have formalized my studies by joining The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world. I have spent the last two years studying over 100 dietary theories (of which I think I have probably done 95%) and am a certified health coach.
Ever since I was young I knew there was a deep correlation between body and food, I have always been very passionate about how food can heal your body and how so many symptoms we have start from our insides. Therefore this year, to dig deeper I enrolled in an intense online course on Functional Nutrition, to deepen my knowledge on healing clients as an individual and not as a symptom.
In addition to having my life change through food, I soon realized how much reiki could have a changing affect on my inner health, mentally and emotionally. Reiki helps clear energy blockages, accelerates healing and releases toxins that have built up in your body by transferring healing energy from the therapist to the patient. These changes attracted me to learn more about the practice and how I can then help others also benefit, and I am now a certified Reiki practitioner. Over the past year, I have had many amazing personal achievements, but the most important thing is that over time I have also changed the way my family eats and relates to food. My three children are happier, healthier, have fewer colds and are stronger than ever.
