I have been on a diet for 36 years…

And I am only 47!

About five years ago, 15 kg over weight, a thyroid problem, three children (who are hands down the best gift God could give me) and all the odds against me, I knew it was time for me to go BACK on a diet, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it yet again! The idea of denying myself all the food I loved just to loose weight, and to then be disappointed when I gained it all back was stronger than the desire and need to loose the weight.

I was at the point of giving up and thinking maybe I am meant to be this way.  I was tired, overweight and had absolutely no will power! But something told me that I had to change the way i think of food... forever. And slowly slowly I did;  my energy levels went through the roof, my thyroid problem was better, less mood swings, my skin looked incredible and most importantly I felt amazing!

I am by no means where I am supposed to be, but I feel so much better, my joints, my moods. The best part of this discovery was, I had found a way to use my gift of cooking in a good way!  I had been studying diets and nutrition for years... there had to be a way for me to reach out to others that had my problem! On an off chance, I went online and started to do some research… soul-search maybe? What I found was an answer that has taken me down a path that helps me empower others with the tools and techniques I learned.  

Change the way WE think of food,  return the power of how WE feel back in OUR hands!

I have been involved directly and indirectly with nutrition for over 30 years, but have formalized my studies by joining The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world. I have have spent the last year studying over 100 dietary theories (of which I think I have probably done 95%) and am now a certified health coach. I have been studying Functional Nutrition with FBS, because food has so much more to do with our health, how we feel emotionally and mentally as well as physically all have to do with what kind of foods we put in our bodies.

And last but definitely not least I have spent a lot of time in the last four years becoming a Reiki Master. and deepening my practice.

I find that these three things, Helath coaching, Functional Nutrition and Reiki, have brought me to realize more than anything that we are individuals, and that what really works for us is really down to looking at the individual as a whole, and not putting him/her in a cookie cut diet. looking not only at what you eat, but all different elements in our lives together. It has taken me a while, and the studying part is not nor will ever be over, but that is what I now see as being the most important thing of all.

Over the past few years, I have had many amazing personal achievements, but the most important thing is that over time I have also changed the way my family eats and relates to food. My three children are happier, healthier, have fewer colds and are stronger than ever.  

My focus is on showing my clients and their family that living a healthy life is not boring and bland!  One can change their life and still enjoy eating by creating delicious food that is full of flavor and full of health. What we eat not only feeds our stomachs and our taste buds, but also our cells, our blood, our organs and our souls.

I strive to work with together with clients to introduce simple eating habits and living practices that support their unique body and lifestyle. Together we will go on an incredible journey to take control of your health!
